Youth/Children Ministry

 

Vision: Touching Lives with Contagious Love of Christ

 

The mission for the children’s ministry is captured in the scripture Luke 2: 40   

And the child grew and became strong; he was filled with wisdom and the grace of God was on Him NIV

 

The Children’s Ministry will, therefore, help the children to grow spiritually in God by

  • Developing their identity in Christ
  • Training them in the Word of God
  • Encouraging them to share their gifts, talents and the love of God with others
  • Teaching them to build good relationships and be respectful to each other

The mission for the youth ministry captured in the scripture Daniel 3: 28 Nebuchadnezzar spoke, saying, “Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, who sent His Angel and delivered His servants who trusted in Him, and they have frustrated the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they should not serve nor worship any god except their own God!” NKJV.

The Youth Ministry will, therefore, help to nurture and grow confident children and youths, who are committed to God and are, overcomers by faith.

(We would also like the vision/mission statement to be video recorded so that a cross-section of the children and youth will say snippets of the vision statement and this will be spoken as one dialogue)

 

Age groups

 

God’s Treasure (age 2-11)

Gateway Children’s Church is an amazing platform where children can learn about God’s marvellous kingdom through interactive Bible Studies, arts and craft, singing and so much more.  If you or someone you know has a child, bring them along! 

 

Children’s Bible Studies (age 6+)

Gateway Children’s Bible study is an engaging environment that helps children to develop their knowledge of the Word and apply it to their daily lives.  We encourage children to explore and discuss the contents of the Bible which will enable them to share this with their friends and family.

 

Gateway’s Prime (age 11-17)

Gateway Prime is all about empowering and equipping young people to live life to their God-given potential and being the future leaders in their school and college.  So come and join us for fun with friends, dynamic teaching and life-changing messages.

 

Godly Soldiers (age 18-25)

At Gateway, young adults are considered those between the ages of 18 and 25. The reality is that a young adult could be female, male, a student, a professional, single, married, a parent, still living with a parent, Generation X or a Millennial.  Our aim is to simply unpack what the Bible says to young people today and lay out a variety of topics before them.

 

Is Gateway safe for my children/youth group members?

 

Every child is important to us at Gateway Ministries Church. We want children to feel secure and safe as they join in our youth and children’s activities. The church has a safeguarding policy which provides (guidelines and safety procedures) for children of all ages. Every adult that works with children has Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and reference checks completed to ensure the safety of the children and young people.  We'd appreciate help from the community too, so feel free to report any comments or behaviour that's less than civil.
